Minxcon is looking for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the mining industry.
Skilled in rock mechanics, geotechnics and slope stability. Focused in geotechnical engineering associated with mine design, construction and tailings storage facility (TSF) design.
Qualifications
Civil Engineering Degree B.Eng. or BSc.
Relevant experience
Civil Engineer with at least 3 years work experience in the mining industry:
Mining geotechnics.
Surface geotechnics – construction.
Mine waste management – WRDs and TSFs.
Managerial skills.
Driven individual with good self discipline.
Must be able to work independently and with multidisciplinary teams.
Meet project schedule targets.
Responsibilities:
- Geotechnical Engineering Design;
- planning of mine layouts and stopping sequences, control of the incidence of rock bursts design of support
- designs to ensure stability at over stoping of haulages, crosscuts and inclined shafts, shaft pillar design and extraction plans support for main excavations such as pump chambers, dams, settlers, hoist chambers etc.
- Operational review regarding mine surface geotechnical TSF’s and surface construction – processing facilities;
- Operational review regarding civil designs of tailings storage facilities and surface construction – processing facilities;
- Project Management and Co-ordination;
- Contract Management and Administration;
- Quality Management;
- Compiling Technical Reports; and
